Tuna Casserole Ingredients
12 oz can of TUNA in water
8 oz SHELL PASTA (8 ounces before cooking)
4 oz CREAM CHEESE softened
1 can CREAM of MUSHROOM SOUP
1 small ONION chopped
1 Tbsp PIMIENTOS or substitute fresh chopped peppers
½ cup CELERY chopped
some GREEN PEAS
1 Tbsp fancy MUSTARD
½ sleeve of SALTINE CRACKERS or BREADCRUMBS
2 Tbsp BUTTER
SALT and PEPPER to taste
How to Make Tuna Casserole Recipe
- In a large bowl, simply combine all of the ingredients. Check current price for canned tuna on Amazon.
- Cook the shell pasta according to package directions and then stir into the mix, but prepare the pasta al dente, which means firm and chewy, do not overcook!
- Pour mixture into a greased 8×8 baking dish.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the dish and then top with buttered, crushed saltines, or breadcrumbs.
- Bake in an oven preheated at 400˚F for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
